Bar chain success for former Newcastle United star - ChronicleLive

Ex-Newcastle United player, Stephen Carr, has launched a chain of nightspots in swanky holiday destinations such as Puerto Banus and Marbella

"It's going really well," Carr said. "From day one, when we opened La Sala, it has been excellent – and it has just got better and better."

Carr, who signed with the Magpies in 2004 for a £2m fee, added: "You know the formula is working when clients are waiting up to four weeks for a reservation and we are being visited by the likes of   Sir Alan Sugar, Eva Long-  oria, Katie Price and Jamie Oliver."

The bar/restaurants in Puerto Banus and Marbella – where a bottle of bubbly costs £1,000 – are run by the Sala Group, with Stephen as the major shareholder.
