Jakar Hamilton Scouting Report: NFL View for SC State Protection

South Carolina State safety Jakar Hamilton bounced around throughout his school career, enjoying at three different schools. After spending two seasons at Georgia Military College, Hamilton played one time with the Georgia Bulldogs before moving to South Carolina State. And now, he'll aspire to hang around at the NFL level. Benefits Hamilton has knowledge at both cornerback and protection, so his usefulness could serve him well at the professional stage. He does a pleasant job of undertaking his work in sector coverage. He might not be a in the secondary, but he can be counted upon to put up his own on security. Weaknesses Than he is against the function Hamilton works better against the cross. His smallish body makes him weak against oncoming blockers, and he tends to get swallowed up. There are genuine questions concerning whether Hamilton can mentally grasp the outs and ins of an NFL safety. He's solid in region coverage, but their safeties are required by NFL defenses to do significantly more than just perform two-high coverage. Resources At 5'11", 186 pounds, Hamilton is just a bit small to be an every-down protection at the NFL level. He's decent speed (4.56) and a great vertical jump at 41.5 inches. But he only set up seven repetitions on the 225-pound bench press. From the physical tools' standpoint, Hamilton shows some promise. Character/Intangibles Hamilton has struggled with academics, but you can find no known issues regarding his personality. He left Georgia when he "needed a brand new start," and there have been "no disciplinary issues," according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Program As a conventional two-deep safety he was used primarily. Hamilton also has the capacity to perform some guy insurance, especially against position devices and tight ends. Playing the Ball Hamilton does a nice job of enjoying the ball in the air, but his fingers are suspect. He'll frequently break up the pass, but rarely does he come up with interceptions. Contrary to the Run Hamilton will get swallowed up by blockers in the run game. When playing near the type of scrimmage he is not really a big guy and could possibly get himself in to trouble. Guy Insurance Playing in the position near the line of scrimmage, Hamilton is with the capacity of playing some man-to-man coverage. Certainly not is he a shutdown place, but he does a solid job of responding in man coverage. Sector Insurance HamiltonAdid a nice job in zone protection. He should not be relied upon in single-high coverage, but he does a pleasant job in two-deep coverage. Tackling Despite not having the ideal size for the security position, Hamilton is really a reliable tackler. He is not one to provide the big blow and pressure turnovers, but he's a significant type tackler. Future Role/Scheme Flexibility Early in his NFL vocation, Hamilton is impossible to perform such a thing other than specific groups. Value have been added by him as a swing cornerback/safety prospect, but he doesn't master either location. He truly has potential, with having said that. If he leads to the right condition, Hamilton could possibly be a fruitful person many years in the future. Round/Team Meets (He must certanly be a seventh-round pick.)
