New York Islanders' Resurgence Is Very Good for the NHL and Playoffs

For years the Newest York Islanders have now been the punch line for many a joke in the tennis world, but it is hard to ignore their resurgence any further. The Islanders are one of the best groups in the NHL, and it seems that no team could slow them down. It is possible for the casual fan or critic to just say, "it is merely the Islanders," but the 2012-13 Isles aren't the same group as last year or the year before that. They are perhaps not the staff that has been joked about as a result of having Rick DiPietro within their array. They are a team that's playing hard and producing. In the beginning you could say that the Islanders were simply happy, but their play recently has been simply amazing, and their resurgence is simply great for baseball. The Islanders are 8-1-1 in their last 10, and they're three highlights of the No. 5 location in the conference, and the proven fact that they're planning to likely make the playoffs is excellent for the NHL. Year in year out particular teams make the playoffs while some miss it. This year there's the potential to possess returning teams like the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Islanders, and that's amazing for the NHL because amazing rivalries may be rekindled. There's the chance that the Islanders could confront the Newest York Rangers at some point in the playoffs exactly like there could be some original six matchups involving the Habs, Leafs and Boston Bruins. John Tavares Adding Islands In front of Schedule The Islanders have already been a group in the building for quite sometime now, and they rise towards the very best has come sooner than planned. It was long predicted that the Islanders could develop into a contender once again once prospects like Ryan Strome and Griffin Reinhart joined the roster, but this season John Tavares has taken a huge step forward and Evgeni Nabokov has been remarkable. Tavares generally had talent and expertise, but in 2013 he's set the group on his straight back and he has adopted a mindset that he will not accept failure. Other B/R columnist Nicholas Goss has made the situation that Tavares should really be in the Hart Trophy race, and it is difficult to argue with him. Seem at Tavares' numbers in 2013. The Get back of Evgeni Nabokov In the event of Nabokov there is a delicate irony that the gamer who didn't desire to arrived at Long Island is currently thriving on it. Nabokov has been a rock for the Isles down the stretch, and he's a history of 20-11-4 with three shutouts and a 2.54 GAA. Nabokov is currently tied for first in the NHL in benefits, and he will have to be able to improve that heading down the stretch. Henry Stobe/Getty Pictures The key to any playoff challenger is key goaltending, and NabokovAarguablyAhasn't been this great since his time with the San Jose Sharks. With Nabokov playing similar to this there is truly no limit to how far the Islanders can get. The Remainder of the Lineup The Islanders have really played well as of late since they are getting benefits from other players. Against Boston Josh Bailey was a hero, at different times over summer and winter it's been Matt Moulson, Brad Boyes, Mark Streit, Thomas Hickey or another person. There is no shortage of players on the roster which can be hungry to win, and it's been impressive to view a team actually move behind one another. Earlier this year supporters wanted Jack Capuano fired, and maybe just maybe the staff got that push and went with it. Maybe the staff has used that negative power and made it in to a good since they have confidence in their coach. This could just be pure speculation, however it could explain the drastic transformation that the Islanders have experienced during the past couple of weeks. A Casino Game For The Ages Joel Auerbach/Getty Photographs This Saturday there will be an incredible baseball game in Ny. For the very first time in years you will see a significant game featuring the Rangers and Islanders on Long Island. Both teams remain fighting to boost their playoff locations, and it is planning to be described as a must win for both teams. The vitality, intensity and emotions of this game are going to be huge, and it is great to observe that the rivalry between your two teams is going to be re-ignited. With the Islanders playing therefore well, you can wonder what they will look like next year when their top prospects join the team, and what they team will look once they proceed to Brooklyn? All in all, the Islanders are very fascinating to view at this time, and it seems like they have turned the corner and they can only be headed upward in the future.
