Ajax Ready To Secure Future of Manchester City Target - caughtoffside

The Dutch giants are enjoying another successful season as they currently look on course to seal the Eredivisie title.

That will be the third consecutive league success under de Boer and the club are keen to ensure the manager remains in Amsterdam over the next few seasons.

Sporting Directory Marc Overmars has revealed that the club are ready to open talks with de Boer in the coming weeks.

Ajax's performances under de Boer have not gone unnoticed outside of Holland with Manchester City reportedly showing an interest in the Dutch boss.

The future of current City manager looks uncertain with reports in recent weeks suggesting the club could part ways with the manager should he fail to lead them to FA Cup glory at the end of the season.

Mancini has also been suggested to be considering leaving the club as he has reportedly become disillusioned with the complacency he believes many of his title winning stars from last season have shown during the current campaign.

But Ajax are keen to ensure de Boer does not become the Italian's replacement and are set to offer him improved terms.

'We will sit down with a few other people from within the organisation first, but we will open talks with Frank shortly,' said Overmars.

'We have already made that clear a while ago and Frank knows about this. There's little doubt about it that he's the most important guy for us.'
