Match preview: Stoke City v West Ham - Premier League - The Independent

Stoke will be without defender Robert Huth due to a three game suspension for an on-field altercation with Fulham's Philippe Senderos in the Potters' last game.

With only one win since December, Tony Pulis will look to turn his side's fortunes around at the Britannia, to keep them on course for a mid-table finish.

After a deflating last minute winner by one of the Premier League's hottest players in Tottenham's Gareth Bale, West Ham were dealt another blow this week when captain Kevin Nolan suffered a broken toe in the same game.

With a tough set of games left to play, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Everton away, and Man United at home, Sam Allardyce will count this game as a must win if they want to remain a Premier League side next season.

The last time West Ham beat Stoke at the Britannia Stadium was in April 2005 when both sides were in the Championship.
