On Sunday night, Jake Long made a decision to sign with the St. Louis Rams on a four-year, $34 million deal. I'd made the case a few days ago that the Dolphins' biggest remaining free-agent need was at offensive tackle, and this definitely pushes things a little. I love your choice by Jeff Ireland to let Long walk at that price. Long's accidents in the last couple decades took a toll on his human body, and he thrives as more of a travel blocker, which can be not the type that Joe Philbin has had to Miami. The Dolphins need certainly to react not just with putting Long's replacement, but by changing the entire landscape of the team's control. Long was the visible leader of the staff. He was a large reputation on the area, in the locker room and with the media. The other day extended and Karlos Dansby, who had been released, were team captains, and their departures imply that you will have a of the guard in Miami. Anthony Fasano and Kevin Burnett, two other experienced leaders, will soon be playing somewhere else next time as well.
