Daquan Worley Commits to Penn State: Nittany Tigers Area Fast in-State DB

The commitment from defensive back Daquan Worley is not surprising, however it is always nice to hear the story out of the young man's mouth. According to Josh Moyer of ESPN, Worley has chosen the Nittany Lions over other top choices such as Georgia Tech and Rutgers. Worley is working back by 247Sports and considered a 3-star cornerback. At 5'11", 170 pounds, he undoubtedly has to strike the weights hard before he makes the trip to Happy Valley, but small or not, this is a determination that Penn State is happy to own. The Nittany Lions will have eight mental promises for the 2014 course and Worley may be the first defensive right back. Actually, besides linebacker Troy Reeder, Worley is the only other pure defensive player in this year's course to devote to Penn State. Worley made an unofficial trip to Penn State on April 12 and received a present that same time. In line with the statement, Worley was considering earlier in the day this week making his decision, but his high school mentor, Matt Ortega of Coatesville High School in Pennsylvania, advised several more days him to hold back. A big role was played by the togetherness of the coaching staff and the way everybody stuck through tough times in this motivation. As Worley told Moyer, more of a family setting is what he was looking for, and he saw it when checking out Penn State. "Everything they have been through, they stick together," Worley said shortly after receiving a PSU present last month. "That is what I look for, and that's what I seriously considered a lot with Penn State." The gifted sponsor gets the power to play on offense, but will likely stay glued to his more natural position at defensive back. His basketball skills and playmaking potential can bode well for a Nittany Lions safety that lost lots of expertise last year.
